host40668yInterview for a software engineer position went pretty good! I did fuck up one of the programming problems but I think they have an idea of where I was going. We'll find out soon enough 🤗 Thanks everyone!

host40668yUpdate: The other candidate (with senior experience) beat me but I was strongly encouraged to interview with the support department (developers also). The end users are developers so I wouldn't be dealing with incompetent people (for the most part). Historically, joining the support department is a way to the engineering team for the company. I'm kind of in a pinch for a job but don't know that I want to do support... I've got some decisions to make 😅

RichardH578y@host It might be a good idea to take it. I don't know what your experiences are but if you're pretty new at this, you may need to "pay your dues" this way. I'm in IT so it may work differently for me.

puneet6608y@host If you like programming and messing with code and feel great joy in solving problems. You will not feel good in support but if you think you will get to the engineering team after some time then you should join and utilise the time by then to enhance your skills or doing some of your personal projects.😊

host40668yTook the job! Although support isn't where I want to be, there is a lot of internal development that I'll be doing so it levels out for me 😄 I'm going to eventually transition to the engineering team once I know the product/business and become more marketable for the engineer position 👍
Thanks @dfox. Interview time.
