Hey Guys.
VMs - VirtualBox or VMware?

IV'e been using VMware v14 cracked, my principal VM is a Linux mint machine, wich one deals better with Linux VMs?
I haven't used Vbox since I found a craked VMware 14 but should stop using it..........
Also, what is the best way to have a prepared to mount VM in a pen drive? Lets say I place my Linux mint machine in my 64Gb pendrive I take everywhere, I want to plug it to any machine (windows most likely) and use it pronto to run the VM instead working in that machine.

    "cracked"...?

    Just Google VMware Workstation Pro 14 product key and the first thing that comes up is a bunch of valid keys.

    @olback lol :p Yep. Well... I had it here cracked...

    Just uninstalled... Been moving from cracked stuff to open source and freeware for the last few years (even my windows is legit, the first license I bought) . Installing vbox... doing a cleanup on the system, so deleting all VMs, and doing the part I like the most, installing and configuring the OS again :p

    @GyroGearloose If you want to create a persistent usb for a linux distro there are two ways. One is you download some 3rd party tool like Universal USB installer or LiLi Linux installer when creating bootable usb you'll have option if you want to create usb persistent or not.
    Second way requires two pendrives. Create a bootable usb of linux distro and plug in another usb. Install that linux and in installation menu choose the other USB drive.
    There are some ways using chroot and stuff to bootstrap a persistent linux system on any partition (including usbs) but that is a little bit complicated.

    but for the stuff I use Linux, and because I finally got a hardware upgrade that supports VMs well, I can have Linux on one screen, windows on other

    @Brosyl YEp, that's it, just plug it in, restart, and have a separate OS from the installed one...

    Oops sorry I misunderstood. I don't know if you can do something that lets you boot vm on start on windows but one thing you can do is make persistent usb disk(same as i mentioned before but it has be made using some other method. Google is your friend) and boot from it in virtualbox.

    @darkLord

    Oh no, doesn't need to be on start on windows

    It's like, I plug the usb and launch the VM, do what I need and close it.

    The Idea is, insted of behing stuck to the installed software (like in my company, when I change to CAM programming) or using a friend's software, or have to install any programs on his/her/whatever system, I can launch the VM, have my Programs / Files / Configurations anywhere I go, just need a computer with windows.

    I'm asking like a portable VirtualBox with the VM files on the USB, in a Folder. did some reseach and think it can be done
