How is AI a risk? Why is it that alarms are raised by people who do not work with AI?

Stop the panic. Learn it. It's a solution to a ton of problems. The only problem is the created void of problems. Ok, and maybe that the vast majority of people (myself included) don't understand it well.

You don't have to be a genius, @kenogo or an expert AI engineer, @AndSoWeCode to see the problems of having general purpose AI machines. He is only saying AI should be developed for specific objectives rather than building a general purpose robots, for which a lot of research and funding is happening.

@kalippu my point is that he is not an authority in this field. Just because he's famous or rich doesn't make him right. There have been multiple instances where people misplaced trust in famous people for no good reason. And this is one of them.
