Looking forward to trying out ChromeOS for a while.

I like the idea of a minimal OS. Frankly while Windows, macOS and Linux are all incredible bits of engineering, they all suck ass and are maddeningly frustrating.

Usually I'm on a computer to complete a task and just want the OS to quietly do its job and leave me out of its myriad personal crises. I don't want to see or hear from that fucker.

If experience tells me anything it's that I'll be swearing at the Chromebook within the week.

But, the fact I'm trying shows I haven't lost hope.

@linuxxx Indeed. Intend to run Crostini as well.

But, my point is really aimed at the idea of abstraction. Don't want to be an expert in internal combustion just to use my car.

A lot of the time I just want to open code editor/IDE/markdown editor and just get on with things. Looking forward to the day when I don't know or care when OS I'm running.

@platypus well as for windows and Mac in not sure but both my parents and sister use Linux as daily driver and its been stable and easy for them for the past eight years.

But use whatever you like :)

Yes. It's very possible that my usage of these systems is what makes me have to fix them occasionally.

Like most of the problems in my life, i'm at least 50% to blame.

A few weeks ago I was at an IT fair. One of the speakers had a ChromeBook and 10 IT Guys (including the audience) struggled to get it to transfer an image to the beamer and sound to the speakers. I was cured of the idea of buying a ChromeBook...
