jonii25246yDon't trust Google Maps with public transit, they usually don't recieve live data. Rather look at the website of the company/city you're travelling with.
But I wouldn't even trust that everywhere. -
Condor323326y@jonii For De Lijn they have the information as accurate as it's on the boards that De Lijn puts at the bus stops.. they don't provide accurate live data themselves either so it's not really worth the effort to go to their crappy website IMO. It may be different for other places of course, but in Belgium Google Maps usually has sufficient accuracy. It's De Lijn that's the stupid fucktard here for not following their own schedule.

Google has to use the APIs the service provides so it's not really Google's fault if they don't have good APIs and/or live data.

Condor323326y@NULLmaster that's not the issue. The data from De Lijn is mostly garbage because it's just a copy of the departures posted on the bus stops themselves without any real-time tracking. And the busses are almost never on time. But it serves the purpose.
The issue here is with Google Maps. Imagine that a bus at stop 1 departs every 30 minutes, and I have to get it at 14:00. About 50 minutes later I'm expected to arrive at a transfer point and to take the next one at 15:00. So a sensible solution would just add that into the navigation, "take your second bus at 15:00 there at the transfer point". Instead Google Maps chose to put that 15:00 mark on the first bus that I already took. As if I missed the damn thing, and rescheduled everything else to a later time. Not sure if that got fixed by now or if it was only an issue in beta. But it was extremely annoying to say the least.
Fuck public transit. If I see on Google Maps that there's gonna be a bus at that place, at that time, there better be a goddamn fucking bus AT THAT PLACE, AT THAT FUCKING TIME!!! No instead let's scrap some shitty lines!
HOW ABOUT WE START SCRAPPING SERVICES JUST BECAUSE WE FEEL LIKE IT, HUH?! Back to postal mail and newspapers you go! You know what, for such fuckers let's just cut their entire internet access. Fucking pieces of shit!!!
