devRant, Ineed your advice / help. This following year I'm going to study in the afternoon again. Since this year I don't have to do an intership, I wanted to start working in the morning. There are some problems though:

I never had a job
I'm still 17 so, even if I can legally work, companies don't like to hire underage people
I'm a punk, so even if I'm a really passionate person and I try to give my best always, I've already had been rejected because how I look (literally)

So, I wanted to know how can I build a professional looking CV and how to show to the requiter my GitHub (and now gitea) accounts, if I should clean my repositories, etc...

I'm basically searching advice on how to get my first job. Skills aren't the issue since I know how to code, manage networks, server infrastructures...

Thanks :D

@NefixEstrada what kind of dev are you? Becayse in spain their are quite a few indie game developers that dont mind how one looks.

Your website looks good, plain and simple. Your GitHub acc.. well a few bits are missing there

Front and back end basically. I'm more kinda a DevOps though @Codex404

Wtf is wrong with you? Is the aspect of a person or the way how thinks relevant to a job that spends all the time behind a screen? Wouldn't you hire someone because them race / religion?

who the fuck would hire a ___* lol

    * insert whatever minority here

SukMikeHok. Please do not think like that. There is no room for opinions like these here on devRant or elsewehre

best advice I could give is: „don‘t hide“!!!

unfortunately people will always have prejudices about the looks of someone, life style, etc. but why not embracing it?
I mean.... you are „the coding punk“ and that alone sounds really cool imho 🤟

don‘t give up, there are still really cool dudes out there, don‘t hide, keep going and sooner or later, the hard work will pay off

More projects on to your github account my dude. Also I would maybe just suggest more content on your site. Not that it looks bad, it looks pretty good and I am a fan on minimal design.

Appearances should not matter at all, and don't listen to that idiot that said something about you looking like a punk.

El punk sigue vivo y muy fuerte!

But yeah man, as a web dev you showcase your cv through your personal website portfolio. Add more into it, put some stuff on heroku and link it on your page so they can have something nice to see.

You'll do fine, specially at 17!

Oh and last but not least. It sometimes helps to show yourself in an image. Love the punk skull, but some people might want to put a face to the cv.
