Root797676yI worked for a company once where I was 5 minutes late every single day. Personally, I wouldn't care at all, but one day when I walked in, I heard my supervisor on the phone complaining about it. "She's always here at 9:35. She's always late!"
So, I told him this story, and I never heard about it again.
I lived across town, and it was a 25-30 minute drive to the office, without traffic. (Idr exactly; it was a long time ago.) As I almost invariably hit some part of rush hour, traffic was varying degrees of awful, though it (strangely) varied pretty considerably by the day. That particular day, I left 20 minutes early, and still arrived at 9:35am. Other days I slept in and left 15 minutes late, and still arrived at 9:35am. No matter what I did, no matter what happened, I ALWAYS arrived at 9:35am, exactly.
And the pattern continued for months!
How did it break, you ask? I arrived at 9:34. 😂 And a few weeks after that I arrived t 9:28!
Talk about improbable, yeah?
but it happened. and it continued happening every. single. day.
So, my new start time was (unofficially) 9:35am, and he stopped complaining!
