Ordered a new pc and got it in today.

*haven't touched windows in years*

Installing Ubuntu now cause I couldn't stand it anymore

Just managed to decrease the size of my node_modules folder from 280 mb to 90 mb :)

Last year at work we started migrating our backend from PHP on a dedicated server to Node.js on AWS lamda functions

We went from 10 second calls to 70ms calls...

At this point our frontend is not even ready for this kind of speed 😅

Just discovered web components & I'm completely blown away by its simplicity.

Something's not right here.

This is a server in my school and I was wondering... Is it okay to have a server everyone can access? There's no key or other security need to the room needed.

Seven hours into a Hackathon right now. We're making progress but my eyes are starting to hurt 😲

Closing up the weekend!

Last year I built the platform 'Tindex'. It was an index of Tinder profiles so people could search by name, gender and age.

We scraped the Tinder profiles through a Tinder API which was discontinued not long ago, but weird enough it was still intact and one of my friends who was also working on it found out how to get api keys (somewhere in network tab at Tinder Online).

Except name, gender and age we also got 3 distances so we could calculate each users' location, then save the location each 15 minutes and put the coordinates on a map so users of Tindex could easily see the current location of a specific Tinder user.

Fun note: we also got the Spotify data of each Tinder user, so we could actually know on which time and which location a user listened to a specific Spotify track.

Later on we started building it out: A chatbot which connected to Tinder so Tindex users could automatically send a pick up line to their new matches (Was kinda buggy, sometimes it sent 3 pick up lines at ones).

Right when we started building a revenue model we stopped the entire project because a friend of ours had found out that we basically violated almost all terms.

Was a great project, learned a lot from it and actually had me thinking twice or more about online dating platforms.

The following just happened in the bus:

A woman took a beautiful Enpora flip phone from 2008 out of her pocket. While she did that a small yellow paper fell on the ground. My eyes pointed at the paper and I saw multiple usernames, passwords and codes on it.

I didn't even hesitate and tapped on her shoulder and gave it back.

She was frightened! Couldn't thank me enough and told me how important it was to have that with her. She said she couldn't remember all her passwords and that if she would've lost it, she didn't know how to log in and unlock her phone anymore.

I gladly told her that it wasn't very safe but ofcourse I understoot that it can be hard to remember everything.

Also I almost told her that she could start using a password manager but with a flipphone you can't use that of course ;)
