I’ve just received a Code test to make an entire game before Friday and I’m kinda sh**ting myself...

if it isn't a big game then ok, else WTF

@gitpush the design is based upon a game for the Atari and I don’t have to implement all of the features but tbh there’s a lot to do...

@queekusme well game dev is not like app dev, games take longer time, I think two weeks would be better? Unless you spend 10 hours a day I think by Friday you'll be done

@gitpush I have all of the art assets and enough of a project to start straight away but I’m gonna be spending most of this week working on it, probs upwards of 7-8 hours min a day

Might start it today and see where I get to...

Need to watch some videos of original gameplay as I’m not entirely sure how the player’s supposed to work

@queekusme ok then, best of luck, you can do it

You're going to need at least five weeks. lol https://bbc.com/news/...

Good luck!! Sounds like a really big task for only a week. Consider renegotiating that deadline just in case.

Mind sharing the atari game title?

Best of luck tho, gamedev is fun (if you don't have to go with unity. If you have to go with unity, it isn't fun at all and i hope you survive) when you got used to it's concepts, don't worry.

Many atari games can be replicated in a day or two using modern libraries so a week probably isn't that bad.

Sounds like someone is trying to get work done for free

@ItsNotMyFault That also doesn't really convey your skills...

@nitwhiz the game is centipede, only have to worry about the centipede as far as ‘mobs’ are concerned.

Currently have everything but the centipede working (player move, locked to bottom 4 rows, can shoot, mushrooms, mushrooms can be shot and die after 4 shots).
