New webdev job ad in a small town where I live:
"We need a junior to mid level full-stack dev - Python, Flask, Django, ES6, Angular, TypeScript, Git, etc..."
ME:
"Fuck, I tick all the checkboxes! - And it's like the only Python job around here! Yey! I so want to work with Python" excited sends cv and an extremely well crafted cover letter.
Company calls after few days:
"Hi! So we'd like to invite you for interview. Some of the tech we work in: Shopify, Wix, and SquareSpace. We're also trying to get into some other frameworks and started looking at Magento and Wordpress.... It's not really much coding, mostly content management...."

What the actual fuck!?!

I still agreed to interview...

@Franboo exactly. And it kind of looks to me that they haven't even read my cv. No where in it states Wordpress, Shopify, Wix...

They think that if you have any experience with web development then you’re qualified for a job meant for people without these qualifications. Happened to me with the job I’m at. They advertised needing someone with JavaScript experience, and now I’m making grammar corrections in product descriptions on an e-commerce platform.

@ytho I'll be coming in to that interview with their job description in my hand and asking them a few questions. If a content manager is really who they want I'll offer my services as a freelancer/contract based for when they actually have some dev or coding jobs to do. I'm just so disappointed.
