@AnonymousDev You are not alone, this has happened with me also. This is done so that the finances from client are never stop.
-
If something is going to take 1hr, then it'll be told that the work will take 2 days and clients are most of the time are non-technical, so they have no idea about the time. These things are done to get more money. If clients asks if it can be done in 1 day, then they got charged more as more resources are going to be utilised for the job.
Because of these kind of things, you are just stuck with the same project for a ridiculous amount of time. -
@AnonymousDev There is nothing much you can do from developer level. Management is responsible.
-
@sunnyDeveloper I'm leaving this company. I can't take any more bullshit from this management.
-
@jAsE yeah sure one can tell the truth to the client, but the amount of risk comes with that is not worth it.
-
Root825996yI really hate it when the boss lies to me and to clients.
But mostly when he lies to me.
Makes me want to walk out the door every single time. -
@jAsE work environment should be motivating you to do the right thing, to be more productive, not make you suffer to do right thing.
-
@jAsE ok. Let's say I do the right thing like telling about the shitty business my company is doing to the client. Client asks about it to the employer. Employer fires me, because I violated the company policy by hurting the business... Then what'll happen? Nothing, same thing will continue, but instead of me someone else will be there.
It's not like I won't get a job if I got fired, but is the "right thing" worth of this much of trouble, I say no. So just ranting here will give me some peace. Anyway I'm leaving this shity company. -
mahaDev22446yI used to think the same way. Then I understood what stubborn morons they are.
I still do feel bad when I know there's a problem in the code, which is completely fixable, but because they're douche bags, the moment we accept there's a teenie tiny little bug, they start acting as if the complete app came crashing down.
I really hate it when your boss asks to lie to clients.
