CptFox16166yMeanwhile, I had to fight for months to get a laptop similar to yours (company supplied one was a fucking dual core, and my job implies dev on multiple devices running on multiple code projects at the same time...), and only got one by showing that the group policies enforced on our supplied laptops prevented me from doing my work.
And now that I got one, it's a 4kg monster and I still have to bring along my 2.6kg shitbag (yes, a 2.6kg dual core laptop, who'd have believed those still went around) when going to school half the time, because despite my job description saying "PhD student, has to go to uni too", they couldn't come up with a solution for the beast to be allowed to connect to the company's git from the outside world...
Damn I envy devs who have adequate IT departments... -
Let's focus on the important things here... you have your own bin! They removed personal bins for us (previous company) in 2014 for some bullshit reason like saving money or health and safety.

Koolstr27856y@CptFox I definitely feel you. That's a shitty situation to be in.
To make you feel even worse, I'll let you know that htey gave me full rein over my device. No group policies, full admin privileges, freedom to install whatever I want, not locked down at all :D -
Koolstr27856y@joycestick companies are taking away bins now too? Seriously? That's messed up. Who the hell decides these things?

Koolstr27856y@Sefie @segfault0xff It's a panoramic shot, on Google Camera (Android FTW). The curve effect is a distortion due to fisheye lens view being forced flat.

I'm 4 days into my new job, and so far I am absolutely loving it. Here's my setup. Yes, they gave me 3 monitors plus a laptop, so my setup has 5 screens! Now I can die happy :D
Definitely worth noting as well, since it caught me by surprise - the company-supplied laptop is a powerhouse. High-end i7 CPU, mid-to-high-end NVIDIA GPU, tons of ports, 1TB HD, 4K display, and 48 GB RAM. Yes, 48 GB. I am truly blessed, starting off my career with this. ^_^
