WINDOWS!!! Why, just why would you think that choosing frigging "Enter" as the copy key in cmd was a good idea?!?

At least for pasting, Ctrl+Shift+V works, it just jumps through some menus first, for whatever reason. But Ctrl+Shift+C doesn't work.
In general, after using a Linux console a lot recently, everything about the Windows console seems stupid to me.

Also, it puts "y", which was my answer to "sure to abort batch" into the history, but not the previous sessions.

    I 100% agree

Though in the windows cmd i usually just use right-click to cp

Now you know why I only use Cygwin MinTTY or KDE Konsole via Gentoo on WSL whenever I do not need something CMD-only.
    😂

Windows CMD suck balls. If you have windows 10 you can CTRL+C /CTRL+V directly. Funny thing is if you have nothing selected it's going to stop the current process from working, (it will end it).

But i agree, this is stupid.

@Yamakuzure I rediscovered the joy of Cygwin recently 👌🏽I'm not quite ready to make the jump to WSL just yet

@kshep92 Well, WSL is a lot faster, even more so with IO. But then I use it with Gentoo so I can have Konsole (tabs ftw!) on Windows.
I am using Cygwin as an X server that provides dbus, sshd and postfix.

CMD hasn't really been updated since XP, don't expect unicorns if you still use it... PowerShell does however have Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V, it keeps history from previous sessions, has reverse search (Ctrl+R), and plenty of other shell features you can find in common Linux terminals.

@Krokoklemme Oh right, that also exists. It's just as logical as Enter.
