piehole8106y@SukMikeHok It's pretty, and supports devs by offering an app store where you can easily pay for apps.

@SukMikeHok What @piehole said. My sensitive web dev JS-loving eyes got sore from looking at all the fugly distros out there and I really like the idea of a cohesive design and user experience. No more programmer art :d

@hack 2560 x 1440 on a single 27" monitor. It's perfect for gaming but I prefer two (or three) slightly smaller monitors instead of having to split panes when doing the dev-aroo. I'm happy with it for my home setup though!

@subatomic Idk yet, it still had that brand new car smell... I'll post an update on here when I've used it for a couple of days ✌️

That's the most good looking Linux distor I tried so far, tho that was couple of years ago and wasn't really stable at the time.
Now I'm using Ubuntu Budgie it has both good UI and less Ubuntu bloatware and more speed (running inside a VM) -
Condor324966yThat's a coincidence, recently I've also switched distros on one of my laptops.. please forgive the obligatory "I use Arch" with screenshot, gotta keep the meme alive :v
ElementaryOS seems to look great by the way! Out of the box, I've only seen Mint and this so far that don't look like they're from 20 years ago. -
Condor324966y@daemonAD haven't tried Manjaro KDE here, but back when I used Kubuntu in 2014-ish, I found it quite attractive. In the Manjaro and Arch Linux Facebook group I've seen quite a few instability reports when the upgrade from KDE4 to KDE5 was ongoing though. Maybe it was poorly planned. And then there's the huge resource hog of course. Gnome and KDE are the heaviest DE's out there.. with Gnome I think it's ridiculous, with KDE I'd say it's worth it for what you're getting (le fancy graphics, integration with Android and whatnot). If your system can run KDE and you don't really mind an occasional bug during upgrades, by all means go for it 🙂
Hello, elementary OS!
