I just got stood up by a hiring manager.

This person emailed me directly and said (paraphrased) "I found your resume on StackOverflow and you look perfect for a lead software engineer position at [semi-big-name company]. [...] If you're interested, book some time on my calendar for a call."

So I did, and got a confirmation back. Exciting!

I called into the hangout conference at the specified time, and... well, so far it's been twenty-three minutes of listening to some faux-melodic chimes and Google's faux-soothing voice saying "You have joined the call but you are the only one here!"

ugh.

the search continues.

You should call and ask about it. Them feeling bad for forgetting the interview might benefit you in the interview to a small extent.

Yeah, I wouldn't jump to conclusions yet. Maybe the recruiter had something come up at the last minute or something. Just give them a call and see if the interview can finally take place, the place might still be good despite the recruiter's failure to attend the call.

It was a timezone mixup. He's on the east coast and didn't set up his calendar correctly.

I sent him an email back and... it's been two days. No response.

    Moving on.
