WHY? In hell's name will you open a tag and not close it???!

Because everything after the Tag should be inside of it? Most likely tho because IDEs dont know where to put the end tags so you remove the generared one and viola, you fucked up. Thats the reason I considered switching to HAML. But nobody uses it...

More likely they were testing out different bunch of features, cause the components are dynamically generated.
