I accidentally broke our office’s tablet device. Operations manager said it will be deducted from my salary next month.
Few weeks later, my operations manager breaks his laptops touch screen. I almost did a naked run in excitement.

Where are you? That would be contrary to labor laws where I've lived (in the USA)

@fmlfmlfml I would have thought that too. Work stuff breaks, it gets replaced.
@Sway Get the letter of the law where you are and recite it to your boss, reminding them of their duty to comply and that you're not one to be messed about.

    how did you break it?

Same in the UK. They can't punish you for breaking work stuff while working.

Take it out of your boss's ass.

@fmlfmlfml @pixeltherapy @620hun Sadly, the law thing doesn’t work in my country. Its more like you pay for your own mess, apparently.

Anyway, I had to pay like 3500 thats like 35 USD, whereas my manager had to pay 45k(450 USD). Best part they couldn't find replacement for his screen. For that amount he got another laptop instead.

You all should see the smile i give to him while i meet him in hallways

Regardless of the law, or the T&C's of your contract, I don't think I'd want to work for a 'manager' who was happy to charge me for something like that!
