    I've seen this on products made for supermarkets. They do it for easy scanning so the cashier won't have to flip and positon the product many times. It helps increase their speed.

    This is true at least in Australia 🇦🇺

    @MrCSharp makes sense. But If it is too big I wouldn't fit over the scanner area.

    Some of them scan your products so fast that you don't even have time to put them in your bag.

    @b4dev barcode scanners don't care. Barcode could be 1 pixel height and they will still work.
