I recently fucked my pc up by installing the latest AMD drivers. Couldn't get past the lock screen.

I tried to revert to a restore point but, well, it failed and the installation would not boot at all afterwards.

Thanks a fuck ton, AMD and MS.

@irene nope, AMD's program suggested them and I installed them thinking that I should stick to the recommended driver instead of the latest one in the future.

@jespersh I don't think you can uninstall gpu drivers in safe mode. At least that's what I tried and failed in.

@jespersh booting to safe mode was not possible either at that point.

@virustark24 that's what I ended up doing. I lost nothing but time.

I personally wouldn't care about it being open source when it does not work...

Reminds me of the old days and why I decided to never touch AMD again...

@electrineer you can definitely uninstall gpu drivers in safe mode, you can use DDU (look it up), it works great for AMD drivers

@endor that's what I did but it seemed like the same driver was still installed

@electrineer 🤔 you sure? DDU always worked perfectly for me, full wipe of everything. Did you do it while in safe mode?
