How to take off with a jet:

1. Have a 2013 MBP
2. Don't clean the coolers and exhausts for 5 years
3. Transpile an app and start a gradle build
4. Enjoy your machine taking off at around 100°C

FFS Apple, 100°C is not OK. Neither is having the fucking fans so loud I can hear them over my headphones. I should probably clean the laptop... Not sure I can open it up though. Company-issued machine.

You really should clean your laptop

Please get help. Do not vent on the machine, let the machine vent.

@dontbeevil that should be a capital S mate... The machine is fine and all, but hot damn, does it overheat and overcook itself

@DLMousey pretty much that every time I need to build a new release 😭
While it's building, I can't really do anything else.
And I bet that if I flipped the thing over, I could fry an egg on the bottom of the laptop

@dontbeevil good to know it's not only my Crapplebook cooking itself :)

@DLMousey oh the MBP is a nice workhorse, I enjoy it. Just as you said though, wish Apple would let the fans spins faster. I'll try the tool you recommended, let's see if I can reduce throttling!

The 2018 MBP disagrees with your statement about 100 °C being unacceptable...
