I know vibe coding is a thing now, but I do hear a lot of people talking about how the AI can get off track and make some pretty bad mistakes. I think (for me at least) the takeaway from that is use it, but don't ask it to do anything that you couldn't do yourself.

If you can’t verify what the AI is putting out, don’t use it.
Use it for stuff that’s annoying or tedious and easy to verify.

@Lensflare I see articles touting AI for making whole games. I don't know what kind of cluster fuck it is making with these. I have to imagine games made this way will have intractable bugs with no ability to solve them in an economic way. No way to add features without fucking up other things. It just sounds like a nightmare to maintain.

Making games is a great skill. Even skilled game programmers make mistakes.

Wouldn't trust an LLM to write a game. Especially one that would be as bug-free as possible.

    !to mention any certification requirements.

you know the saying - "those who don't learn the history are doomed to repeat it. those who learn the history, are doomed to helplessly watch those who don't repeat it"?

it's the same with vibecoding - whatever you do to avoid it, sooner or later that crap will exist everywhere around you and in every application you use
