Fuck graphical installers and their bullshit, installed a perfectly working luks encrypted arch install on my usb stick and got most things setup too already.

Next I need to makepkgchroot yay into it - for now I've had to use yaourt, also can't boot off of it, because I didn't yet figure out how to do the grub uefi shit inside of it - which isn't really necesssary as I plan to use it just as a chroot slave anyway, but useful for when I would have to rescue my laptop or something.

uefi boot should't be too difficult but I have never tried to be honest on a usb stick because it needs a separate partition, needs to be FAT32 and have a very specific directory structure, generally /boot/EFI/ lol but can be different depending on computer model. I think most important is the fat32 partition that the bios can recognize as boot part.

@hash-table yeah it's a mess, have setup the 32 bit target partition, but that one doesn't get recognized since I don't have legacy boot activated, on another note though, having a lot of issues getting lamp stack installed anyway, because half of it exits due to the chroot not being "booted".
