why can't we just detect and abort Down Syndrome people early?

And also, why can't we just kill all Down Syndrome people?

What's the point of all intellectually disabled population?

While it is probably an offensive question, it is pretty much being done in Iceland during pregnancy screening. Unsure if it is mandatory to abort if detected or their culture heavily encourages it (and the parents also has this mindset).
