I've been interviewing at a local company. They want that I (as the new FE dev) do monthly presentations to the whole company (50-ish) about the progress of our product.

This is the first time I heard this. I assume this is a red flag :(

Otherwise, the company looked good (except a company phone that would have been an iPhone)

We have outsourced the design for a certain feature since we could not agree with the CEO & project manager. Now the CEO has given the designs to his wifes company and they have worked on it.

We had received the new designs and made 26 feedback points & questions. We were very much not happy with the new designs. The CEO was happy.

Now we have gotten the new new design and they have addressed 3 feedback points/questions.
They have uploaded their new comments and only addressed 3 feedback moments.

Yay, I won my bet against a colleague to see what developer (colleague) would be fired first.

one week back from my holidays and so far:
- 3 server outages
- 1 developer will be fired
- 2 new employees (company has around 35 employees)
- 2 employees leaving
- outsourced designs, the designer surely didn't read the feature research doc nor followed style sheet
- a small, easy feature has not yet been finished by the rest of the team
- new devOps engineer wants to rewrite our entire tech stack

But at least the CEO was doing it's best and ran away from the problems & ran 150km

Today is the first day that we have to go back to the office and more than half of the company is exempt from that rule

I'm one day back from my holidays and we already had 2 server outages....

The HR lady is pushing out the communications that the work from home policy starts on 2 September. Her last day at the company is 30th Augustus

And a bit later, he went on a spiel that employees should disable notifications more to focus. But he wants that we go back to the office... an open office with a lot more background noise.

My closest colleague that I work the most with is 2000 km away....

Work gave me a linux computer and asks to integrate an application that has no Linux support and wonder why it is going slower. The linux computer also has not enough RAM to develop comfortable on a VM

In my last rant, I complained about our rebranding document that was very much lacking... Their listed colours are slightly different than the colours used in their logo...

How do they fuck up copy pasting the colour values. And yes, it was meant to be the same.

We have gotten a rebranding 'document' that we have to implement. It contains 1 image, 4 colors and a new font excluding the font name. Nothing more.

How the fuck did the company pay so much for something so bare bones...

One of our frontend developers was legally blind and was responsible for design.

He did leave his company around 3 years ago but the company was happy with him & his work. What a weird combo :D

Is it normal for a developer to go the customers to troubleshoot a certain problem?

What the fuck is this joke of an "event" for celebrating the 10th anniversary of this company...

I've just learned that our front-end application throws a simple 404 error when trying to retrieve an avatar that does not exists.

But our technicians/support use this error in the console to show the customers that there is indeed a problem with the application functionality but have unsufficient logging from the back-end to troubleshoot with their internal tools.

What a bunch of liars trying to keep the customer satisfied and it works relatively well :D
