Never do clickops if you're even thinking about proper infrastructure-as-code setup! I've had to jump over so many hurdles in our project to manage our infrastructure with Terraform. Wrong resources, wrong configurations, wrong imports, permission issues, firewall issues.. Just another hurdle every step of the way.

To make this even slower I'm the third person who's working on this project and there was absolutely minimal knowledge transfer. The ops folk who created the infrastructure using clickops barely help at all with this.

The best thing I discovered is they actually rebuilt the infrastructure exactly like it was in our on-premise setup, meaning they think it's good to put five applications running on the same server. What's the point of using a cloud provider if you do that? We're just waiting for someone to hack one of the applications and suddenly you don't have one security leak, you have five.

Start with proper design and use an IaC tool from the start. It'll be so much easier.
