I think I saw some msdn pages

The C land is very different from Java land, pretty much the other way around. The C standard library is minimal, so there's not much to look up, but the intricacies of the language need time. Especially manual memory and file management, and pointer handling. Then there's a big difference between C code that runs and good C code.
