Amazon just launched DocumentDB, a clone of MongoDB.

    @-Tor DynamoDB does not have the same API as MongoDB. I didn't want to use that because it would mean I'm stuck with AWS forever.

    DocumentDB mimics the MongoDB API, which is much better.

    @simpleJack I actually believe they will win the "GAFA war":

    - they're the only ones having retail (dominating, even),

    - they're several years ahead of others cloud providers,

    - they host a huge portion of the Internet already.

    @-Tor No : you can migrate your database to any provider offering MongoDB.
