Checklist of most stupid things I did:

Buy a 500gb SSD and install Windows Server 2008 R2 onto it, then configure it to look like Windows 7 and use it for development/gaming ✅

BTW after installing all features and components, it runs very well.

    I don't know. I hated my Windows 10 installation and got a new SSD. And it has the same kernel like Windows 7 so every piece of software is working well. Why not?

    Windows 7 or the Win 8 variants could do it, too

    I know, but I just wanted to try. I got the idea from a vid where somebody tried to get more performance on Server 2016 for gaming. That's not what I want but I just was interested in doing it. :D
