Sad but true

People landed on the moon with 145000 loc and a MHz cpu. And my old android phone cant run an ionic hello world because of too low ram & slow cpu and only 200 MB storage... Funny how humans waste more and more...

Also we eat more but express less. So it's all good if we are becoming stronger but selfish

Not exactly comparable
The old systems didn't exactly have to *do* much apart from running control systems, which is super difficult and important but yeah, doesn't really add up to that many LoC. LHC would have a lot more in it (analysis, detectors, data storage and retrieval etc) and a self driving car has a fuckton of extra stuff.

I mean embedded folks today still worry about kilobytes of ram, you can't stuff much code into that small a space. Modern UI layers and app frameworks and stuff have a whole lot going on in them.
