Blog, answer StackOverflow questions, go to lots of meetups, and have a Github/Bitbucket portfolio, then put all that on your resume. I'd recommend making several apps and doing tutorials. Get LinkedIn Premium so you can compare your skills to others. Do internships if possible. Apply directly on company sites, not Indeed or Dice. Finally, the hard part, move if you have to. That's how I got my first job after sending out resumes for almost a year. I moved out of state and I know that's not possible or feasible for everyone but if you want it, you might have to bite the bullet and either travel far or move.
Also see if your friends have openings where they are. Don't give up.
ive had my degree for almost 6 months. still working for the restaurant i started at 4 years ago to get through college, while all my friends have development jobs. im feeling left out. :/
