Today after 6 years I used windows in my cousin's laptop for the first time... I felt really bad for the people still using windows..

Tried to fix a dll problem in her system and still no idea how to fix that shit...

Aw come one man. Can't fail at doing something and blame the product like that. Someone might just as well blame you for lack of skill/knowledge

Its not being salty but for a laptop with very less specification it is quite hard to run windows as compared to linux. What skill should i possess to run a simple installation in windows?

And this thing is running for the last 1 hour or so...

@agnibha is the dll related to a new software or external device and in that case, is it designed for windows 8 or for windows 10?

In my experience 95+ % of all problems steam from bad 3rd party products, not windows it self.

And that problem exists with linux to as I have read a lot of complaints on trying to get scanners or some graphics card working.

Thats also the reason Microsoft tried to force every one over to 10 and the new mandatory update to be able to solve dome of those problems.

@Voxera i was trying to install xampp in her system because she wants to learn php and her institution wants xampp... And to that some dll is missing because of some missing update... And hence not being able to do anything...

Is it that redistributable dll?

I think that should be included in the installation, hence the redistributable name. But I know many third party programs require you to install it manually which they also usually state in the instructions.

Last week i tried to install node + gulp. It didn't work and I had to ask my admin who solved the problem in no time.

@Voxera tried everything available till google search's page 3...but no luch... Somehow this build of my cousin's laptop has some genuine bug and because of that things are not working as it should... Because I have no time left today I asked her to format the system and do a fresh installation and try it out... Or go for Linux mint... 😌
