Wtf is facebook doing. I noticed that instagram updated through facebook app installer instead of play store. Went to see all apps and these thre ware there out of thin air. They warent there when i bought the phone, but they are system apps. So i must have gotten them through an update. Fuck this

Now facebook is a system app as well. Fuck this bullshit

That shit's why I uninstalled FB on my phone long ago

    I have this as well.
They are all disabled and/or uninstalled, as permissions dictate.

They still run and update themselves occasionally.
Fucking Samsung. Fucking Facebook. Fucking people that want to force their shit on everyone.

How is that even possible? Maybe it’s something specific to your Android build?

Yeah, fuck Samsung. I am NEVER buying one of their phones ever again. So much crap pre-installed and impossible to remove without rooting.

I think that's how facebook do more shady stuff than just collecting all the data it can from your @sumafu

Wait show us proof that it updated the system apps. Just a screenshot of a recent date with the app disabled will be perfect. If you can show that there might be another way to root phones now if they are doing that crap along with getting it removed by default

I have that too. Do you use a XiaoMi?

I can't even disable them and the best part is I don't have facebook

Can try adb shell to uninstall apps, have done that on my Samsung, two security updates later they haven't appeared yet.

@PerfectAsshole this has nothing to do with root privileges. The manufacturer (sony) pushed them with an update. After googleing a bit Samsung and Huawei phones have them too. They started doing this about a year ago.

I think it's time for a class action, we have to stop manufacturers from degrading the mobile industry further.

@24th-Dragon ah ok. I was thinking facebook manager was updating the apps in the system directory.

This is why custom roms are still mandatory

@electrineer i wanted to wait until the warranty was out. But now im considering.

@EmberQuill but don’t you just love Samsung’s Brixby? Even has a dedicated hardware button that you totally meant to accidentally press 6 times a day and can’t disable. /s

@toriyaki I found an app that let me remap the Bixby button on my S8 to open Google Assistant instead. And since I never set up Bixby it doesn't work on the lock screen either. That's as close as I can get to disabling that button...
