Yeah so seems like huge companies are literally just throwing tech buzzwords like "blockchain" and "cloud" and "big data" for marketing purposes. This annoys me.

Duh. Of course they do, how else would they sell things to clients that don't pay attention to actual usability or anything, but rather just want things to sound fancy so they can brag about having it to their friends?

"The software company that develops <my mission-critical software> deployed a new version of it yesterday that works faster than before!"
"Yes cool and all but I got something developed for my company that has BLOCKCHAIN and runs in the CLOUD using DECENTRALIZED BIG DATA miners"
    "...uh sure"

When "big data" became popular in corporate settings I rolled my eyes. Yeah, we've had "big data" for a lonnnnng time. It's just a large set of data wtf. I actually got screwed at a job interview because I told them that it was a buzzword. Stupid me. "Yeah, I know how to work with big data. I also know SQL too."
