Today, My 2011 MacBook Pro stopped working. Got it when I was in 5th Grade and had it ever since. We've been in a lot of situations such as GPU Failure, Dead Speakers, Defective IO Shield, etc and it's my humble request to bless my Mac to recover. My warranty expired years ago and I am all on my own. Please recover my friend - Your true friend :(

    I don't wanna swear at @-red but just tellin you its my baby so ****** *** **** ** **** *****!!!!
  • 2
    You were in 5th grade in 2011?

    Man do I feel old. I graduated high school in 2010
  • 3
    at least you can screw out the harddrive on that thing and recover your data.
  • 2
    @growling Well, that's called life, unfortunately **Crying inside**
  • 2
    @heyheni I always take a backup so that's not the issue but I can't afford a new MacBook and both of my kidneys can't compensate the price of a new MacBook Pro. I have embeded my heart to it.
  • 2
    @growling BTW I bought it in 2013 (That's when I was 5th Grade...... I am sorry if I am making you feel even old) It's a Late 2011 model and was released in mid-2012 in India and I got it on Jan of 2013. It's the most spec-ed model of its generation. I loved it. I am 15

    Any ideas what has failed?
  • 3
    RIP. 😢
    On a side note, rest assured, last time I check, one kidney worth much more than 30k. So roughly u can support more than 10 MacBook Pro all maxed out easily😁

    @lunadev don't give him incentive to to something stupid. Sure loosing a laptop and not to be able to buy a new one sucks hard but nothing is more valuable than health.
  • 1
    @heyheni totally agreed. 😅 sorry for my cold jokes. Those devices are expensive but somehow U will manage to get a decent one along the way. Keep ur vitals where they’re meant to be. 😁

    @lunadev hot jokes might make the extracted kidneys deterriorate quicker.

    @growling now I feel old! I had already left education and was working then 😭
  • 1
    @lunadev I already sold it. Just kidding. : (
  • 1
    @KartSriv thank you. T_T
    Pls keep ur vitals where they’re. It’s not worth exchanging with anything.
  • 2
    @growling now you make me fell old. I graduated high school in 1999. 😱 Nah, just kidding - I know I am old without you needing to remind me of that 😜 (but my wife says that I still act like a 6 years old dumb-ass)

    My MacBook Pro from late 2008 still works fine, but software updates are getting more and more a problem, saved money for a new one but still not sure because of the current quality of these machines today...
  • 2
    go to iFixit, make the repairs, share the photos!
  • 2
    @lunadev Dude's 15 yo, that doesn't mean he's that stupid... Althought if someone were that stupid I would shed a tear for them then probably call it natural selection. 😂

    @featdd @SHA-16384 @Brosyl it's not like I can't get inside any computer. I can but there is no problems in the user side instead there is a problem in chip level stuff which means no one can fix it except freaks who have the devices to fix issues like this. There was a GPU recall program for laptops like mine but got over before I ended you with a GPU failure 2 years back. I configured the NVRAM to run on the Integrated Graphics and now the integrated is dead. Just built my own computer and spent all the money on it. I've got no clue what laptop I'll take for Google Code in and Google Summer of codes. Finally the big problem, I haven't told my parents. If they somehow got to know then its my funeral.

    PS: A new motherboard for my Mac is 550$ Holy S**t!

    @KartSriv Write google explain your situation and ask for a chromebook with linux you could lend for the summer of code?

    Do you've got an Android phone?
    If so download https://termux.com and connect a bluetooth keyboard and a monitor/tv and you can write code in the linux shell with VIM.

    @KartSriv that is part of life my friend. The only constant thing here in this world is change. I have 3 macbook pros
    1st one is I think 2011 too the non retina, the 2nd one is 2015 (still alive, using at work) 3rd one is the latest maxed MBP 15" 2018 but rarely used in work. I bring it to work most of the time though

    @hell Louis told Apple is a crappy company just for selling a laptop with such a major issue and they did not even acknowledge it. Well, they do have a recall program but just like the rest of them no one knows their existence. Louis told it's not worth fixing.
  • 3
    @theKarlisK @lunadev @featdd @heyheni @hell I can fix it by just replacing the motherboard but wait a minute...……………… that shit is 301.50$ and the bloddy shipping is 49.47$ which means it's 350.97$.

    @KartSriv see if it's cheaper to find a donor Mac for parts
  • 2
    @theKarlisK in India Macs are overvalued, way over valued. My busted Mac is worth 714$ if working so there is no doubt I can't get a donor. Anyways, thanks for your tip!

    @KartSriv is it 13inch or 15inch?
    In europe you can get broken 2011 macbook for about 9730inr/$140 on various ebay clones. You may do some googling.
  • 2
    @heyheni I still gotta pay the customs and I have no one in Europe.
  • 1
    @heyheni A clear picture
  • 1
    @KartSriv yeah, classic Louis, I love to see him bashing apple on his videos :D
  • 3
    @hell Fixed my iPhone's display with his tutorial but I later lost the phone. Irony : (
