Just read an article stating you shouldn't buy windows 10 home and should buy pro instead because of 'potential performance increase' due to some of its 'added performance technology'...

Do I need to say more?

Funnily enough, I do think the Pro (or even better, the LTSC) version is better, but it's not by adding features, it's by removing them.

@irene On the top of my head:

    - Cortana

    - Windows Store

    - Many of the bundled apps

    - All the preinstalled games

    - etc.

In addition, you can delay / block the updates via GPOs.

@Jilano all those 'features' are in pro?

@lxmcf I didn't have the games installed on my Pro version, but the store, etc. are there, yes.

@irene None of what I mentioned is present in the LTSC version. Are you sure you used a good ISO?

As for security updates, I agree (you can choose that in the GPO), but the main ones, I would be wary, especially in a sensitive environment. Between performances or files loss, those are sometimes pushed way too early.

Docker. You need Pro to enjoy docker when stuck with 'crosoft OS.

    * side note on all this, they were saying that your general consumer should buy pro and not home

@irene As far as I know, the LTSC (Long Term Servicing Channel, previously LTSB for Long Term Servicing Branch), is aimed at ATM and the likes, and is very diffrent from the Eduction version (be it N, KN, SKU).

PS: Windows 10 editions are a shitshow anyway. Just look at any article trying to summarise that mess.
