Hi guys,

can somebody recommend me a digital camera, which can be controlled programmatically by computer aka. Rasberry Pi?

I want to try some image processing algorithms and time lapse on live video. The price should be around 200-300$ and it is really important that I can program it.

Yeah, the RPi camera is pretty decent. Especially for it's price. There's also a version without the IR filter called NoIR. It's primarily used for snapping photos at night.

Try any ptz indoor IP camera or baby monitor. It will work over the network and you can can control it using the onvif protocol. There are lots of good onvif libraries in any programming language.

Good thing is that it will not be tied to your rpi, you can use it independently of it.
