Root797346ySounds like it's time for a rewrite.
When someone comes to you for help when their two-story mud hut is falling apart, you shouldn't sell them more mud. You should sell them on the concept of using something that doesn't suck. Move them from the dirt age to the stone age. -
@Root I'd like to. But I doubt if A) I'll have enough voice to get this point across considering I'm an intern into my third week B) they probably just want to respect the client needs and requirement and not proactively do a great job. So far, I haven't met anyone on the team who came across as such a charecter.
So slim chances. -
Root797346y@exceptionalGuy Yeah... If you leave things up to people, they will screw it up due to laziness and/or incompetence. Said a different way: If you want something done right, do it yourself.
The client probably doesnt know, and therefore cannot make an informed decision. Talking to the client without permission from.your boss will probably make him angry, so I'd recommend doing it privately and explain that they should keep it quiet so you may keep your job. "Sites built using Wordpress are slow and honestly prone to being hacked, and they also become increasingly expensive to maintain as they grow. Picking a different technology might be a more financially responsible choice."
Depending on how sensitive and aggressive your boss is, it might be risky. Or you can just accept the project and avoid the extra effort and potential conflict.

So the company I'm interning in just got a project in WordPress from an old client. I'm their "WordPress backend guy" apparently coz I'm apparently the only one who seems to know WordPress. The site has multiple malwares and they want to redesign the thing too. Work starts on Monday and now DevRant algo is showing me a lot of WordPress rants. Guess good times are ahead.
