"Mastering Algorithms With C" (ISBN 1565924533)
is an advisable read.

Learning C is very beneficial, as it is the core of C++. Understanding it helps a lot with finding easier solutions to simple problems, where a lot of C++/C#/Java developers tend to throw insanely huge constructs upon. 😉
