What do you say to your coworkers who want to get free copies of your paid (kinda expensive and lots of effort + time to download) work related video tutorials?

Also, sometimes they ask for it indirectly then laugh.
If they insist, should I ask them to pay for the share?

Some people don't like investing in themselves. They pay expensive tuition costs but don't want to invest while they are working.

What's the proper way to say no in a big corporate environment without looking like a bad guy? I will say yes if the justification and initiative are really good.

No, just send them the link

@devTea Um and what if they insist for the free copy because of whatever excuse they will tell you like: I am your friend, we must work together, we are a team we need teamwork, etc 😂

@Devnergy do you think he’s important in said “teamwork”?

say you want a beer and a pizza for lunch together.

@rutee07 oh but he already saw me downloading the courses 😂

@Devnergy can’t keep playing nice to everyone, gotta sounds like an asshole every once in a while

You should just straight tell them no. If you want, offer them a discount:

"No, I don't give them away, but I'll give you 20% off"

Maybe next time you'll just ask back: "What do I get from you in return?" and giggle just like the other person.

And: why did you pay for something work related? Shouldn't your company pay for it, so you can share it afterwards anyways?

@relexx I paid something for work related because I want to learn faster and treats it as an investment. The company have some courses but not that complete.

Thanks for the tip hehe I will try that 🔥

@devTea it is still early to tell if he is important in the team or well versed in terms of coding/any work related things.

Thanks I will be straightforward with my answer 💪

@Gogeta70 yes the discount answer is what I have thought of yesterday. Thanks. Let's see in the coming days what will happen to this story lol 😂

I usually share all my stuff because those interested also have different courses I might be interested in.

In a big corporate environment, why the heck isn't the employer paying for those work related courses?

@mksana they want money IN not OUT, that’s how their brain work

I bet the content owner isn't happy if you shared her/his content. Tell them that you are not allowed to share it.

@DataJockey nice idea. This is good. It will be like piracy if I shared it to them
