@possum hi five!
@norman70688 it gets you in that slow motion state... I don't even drink that much, I have very low alcohol resistance... -
@norman70688 if only the @Condor story would have been taken as a cautionary tale smh
-
@Charon92 yes, that thing, the balmer peak
lmao, was balmer like an alcoholic or something? poor guy... I mean I hate him with all my guts, but I would feel very sad if someone named this after me...
unless he was actually involved, gonna do some googling now... -
@Charon92 (I was just editing this) haha ok, let me rephrase, I remembered I knew that, I guess it's just a joke xkcd did, not a real thing...
the corona is doing its work -
ok, so here's an update how the thing is going.
so far I think I'm not disturbed by the usual day to day anxiety, so it is working.
I also find myself yelling random nonsensical words, but it's not negatively affecting my performance, it's just scaring my neighbors. -
I prefer drink and think about ideas how to make my coding life easier and how to upgrade my code flow etc. I figured few things I find **extremly** convinient.
-
Pickman6566yI actually think it has some legitimacy as a theory. Something in me makes me wander all over the code, when I'm a bit tipsy I diligently write my functions precisely and neatly without doing strange stupid things. When I have to do something more complex I take a piece of paper and write things down. Sometimes I even comment my code neatly.
The day after I don't remember writing that code but it works.
That or the gremlins in my computer like me drunk. -
The worst part about drinking and programming is the eventual crap feeling when you've sobered up with a slight hangover and realized you haven't left your desk the entire time.
I'm gonna resume work on my library, and i'm about retest the theory that you program better if you are a bit tipsy.
