Working on a 6 months long project with delivery scheduled in one more month.. Now my manager says we either ship it in 6 dev days or he gets fired.

Welcome to devRant! Yeah, that is pretty much his problem. However, a company that would do something like fire employees for missing a development deadline is a failed company by it's very nature. That is an incredibly toxic culture that is destined for failure.

Then fired he shall be

@arraysstartat1 I think OP has provided all the info. Six month project looks to be in month five, with one month to go, and leadership says, you have to deliver in six days or you lose your job. That is toxic.

The thing that boggled my mind was the sudden change in attitude. Just two days ago management was all happy and the project was on track. Then suddenly bam! Surprise talk with my manager.

BTW my manager is super awesome, hence the rant. Wouldn’t care otherwise.
