For some reason github is not working on my wifi.
First thought it was down.
But then found it's running from my phone data.

Tried calling isp. They say it's working .

Anyone here who can help.... ?

Currently running from my mobile data but it's too slow..... 😢

Check what dns server you're using on your wifi router, see if it has any issues, and try changing to a different one

@endor Don't have access to router. Will have to talk to building manager. Doubt he will understand any part of this.

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

@MrCSharp Yes. 3 times. Currently using over a vpn. But the speed sucks.

@Konsole you could also set a custom DNS in your computer's networking settings

@endor How would that work? I am still connected to the router right...? So the request passes through the router dns doesn't it?

@Konsole nope, in that case all DNS requests would go directly to your DNS of choice (that's why you always specify DNS by ip address and not by a domain name), completely bypassing your router and its settings.
(In fact, it it weren't that way, you'd be leaking DNS information to your router and whoever controls it - a known vulnerability that should be fixed on all modern OSes)

Maybe bad routing on your home network (might be the fault/intention of your provider).

To check if it is vastly different, you might want to run traceroute from your computer.

Try changing the DNS to the Google server (8.8.8.8). Has happened to me in the past.
