The new holy war in C#:
Point p = new Point(5, 3);
var p = new Point(5, 3);
Point p = new (5, 3);
Some good news for aussie devs working from home:
Easy tax deductions for working from home. 80 cents per hour
So the universe is determined to fuck with me for no other reason than the fact that I exist.
I managed to get 2 dates with 2 different girls (obviously) for next weekend.
And now, Australia is going into lockdown: No restaurants and shit.
So far, I am still laughing about the whole situation but now I am faced with either calling it off (which sucks because this lockdown can go for 6 months) or find another way to meet up.
I'm tagging this as a question to see if you guys have any ideas.
As for this fucked up universe... if the parallel MrCSharp is somehow watching me from the parallel universe that has a good 2020 going on at the moment, can you please like take me to your 2020.. that'd be fab.
Oh.. and my office is now fucking closed and forced to work from home. No more gym too..
god fucking damn it...33
I figured out a workaround the coronavirus shit and to protect myself in public.
Instead of wearing medical masks (like all the sheep out there), I am gonna be wearing a gangsta-style bandanna.
It covers face and mouth. BUT most importantly it will scare people away and no one would get close so i will be practicing social distancing everywhere I go using nothing but the power of fear and stereotypes.7
What's your experience turning a raspberry pi into a NAS server?
What did you use? And any resources you can share?19
So what am I doing for valentines day? So far, I've walked for 18KM.. 3KM less than my previous record.
My feet are going to hate me tomorrow but my wallet sure will be in love with me 😂3
I just finished upgrading a dotnet core 2.2 WebApi + Console App to dotnet core 3.1 and it was a very smooth process with very minor changes to my code.
Not a rant, just posting because it is the first nice thing that has happened for me in a while now.4
Last year, this was in my news feed: https://lkml.org/lkml/2018/6/5/769
Will we ever see this Linus again after the COD bullshit?4
I saw this headline today: "Trending Technology - Google's new AI tool could help decode the mysterious algorithms that decide everything"
Basically, an AI tool to decode how other AI algorithms work...
Congratulations humanity... you done well.2
Google is not even hiding their efforts in controlling the internet and holding sites for ransom:
They will happily put a "badge of shame" on slow loading sites and I think this is just to force more sites to use AMP.
Fuck google. and I mean it. Firefox really is the last "FREE" browser available for us who care about this shit.
on the other hand, I hate the whole "Modern Web" shit. So if what google is doing will take it down then by all means, go fuck it up google.20
A SW developer commiting an executable in his source repository, is an idiot.
A HW developer doing the same, is a wise man.6
The best happened today.
These past 2 weeks have been shit. People wronged me big time, got thrown under the bus for shit that the people behind refused to own up to it. Took that shit because I just couldn't be bothered to fucking argue.
I'm the only dev on this project and we're so close to release so I bit my tongue and took it on the chin but it's been eating me alive since then.
The tipping point was yesterday. 5 people failed to communicate shit properly amongst themselves on all channels got me forced to be the last one finishing work yesterday 4 hours after everyone left. I had every right to refuse and leave on time but again, we're so close to release and I don't want to see this project fail.
But see, I got angry. So fucking angry that nothing else has been on my mind since yesterday.
I don't take out my anger at others, that's not who I am (moslty) so today I was at work and secluded myself from everyone else otherwise I would've exploded in someone's face.
I was also supposed to meet up with friends tonight but with all this shit going on I decided not to go because I would not have been fun to be around.
Left work on time today, fell asleep on the train because I am too exhausted.
When I was about to walk into my house I noticed this little super cute puppy following me. I had no idea where or how long he's been behind me as I was walking home but he seemed way too happy when I saw him. His tail wagging like he's excited to see me even though I have never seen him. I petted him, played a bit with him. He seemed to be the happiest dog ever 😁. He managed to put a smile on my face for the first time in the last few days.
He then ran away.. I guess he got bored 😅
I am feeling so much better now all because of this little puppy 🐶. I'm so glad I ran into him because I've been smiling since then.
I wish I had took a picture of him 😥
Doggo, you probably won't read this, but thanks mate you made my month in those few minutes 🤘
If you have a dog, go pet him and appreciate how much happiness they bring in your life. If you have a cat.. Uhh I don't know... Uhh pray it doesn't kill you in your sleep I guess?
Thanks for reading3
I wrote another docker blog post and this time I used it to solve a real problem at work 🤘
let me know if you have any feedback/comments on the content.
Got these from the GitHub stand at DDD Sydney..
They are really cool and can't wait to put them on my SurfaceBook 🤘🤘🤘2
I've officially started my blog.
First blog post is about docker and dotnet core.
What do you guys think?7
The man who designed C# 🤘
I don't think I've seen him mentioned around here.
I was asked to introduce some interns to software development and what it is about.
They are not IT interns, so I am wondering how can I explain what I do to them?
Notification pops up at the bottom of the screen... it is an email from a Project Manager.
2 seconds later...
Project Manager via messaging app: "Hey, I've sent you an email"
fuck off bitch... I know that already, it is 20fucking19... notifications are reliable and they work. I don't need a human toast notification to tell me about the other notification that i just received.5
WTF is up with open-source projects using emojis in their commit messages... FUCKING emojis..
I get it, programming is fun and a hobby to many, but can we also keep at least a minimum level of professionalism here.
WTF is a wheelchair or bento emoji at the beginning of a commit message supposed to mean? Why the hell even bother to use it in the first place? There is no fucking reason for this retarded shit.
Is this what happens when activist developers get out of their way to make programming "inclusive"?
It is your personal project and so if you want to use emojis it is OK, I respect that (not really) but I can't trust your code, your commitment, or the quality of your work if I see those dumb Unicode characters there.
Git commit messages are not a game. Be playful with comments in code or your readme.md file but git messages should be a clear reflection of the changes not what a teenager's phone vomited on the keyboard.32
