lxmcf199506yYour are 99% correct but I partially think it's for reasons...
1. MacOS is perceived as a more luxury thing compared to windows due to price of entry
2. In some cases people think it looks more professional (it's a meh thing)
The better you make your course 'look' the more people will buy it -
@lxmcf But I don’t see the OS they use before I buy it. They’re all so fucking cheap I just buy whatever it looks like would be fun to learn lol
-
Well, of course they are in it to make money so to do that they need to look like they know what they are doing. A cheap way of doing that is leveraging the billions of dollars Apple has put into marketing Mac's as the computers that smart / knowledgable people use. This typically only fools people at the management level - but hey, guess who has all the money to buy Udemy courses for their staff?
-
@unsignedint All of the courses I buy are like $10 rounded up. Take your conspiracy shit elsewhere, sir. 😆
-
@broseph yeah but you would only pay $5 if the instructor was not using a Mac. BTW I use Arch
-
Those who can, do; those who can't, teach.
And those who teach, use macs? Coincidence? I think not. -
muttley886yFor tech courses Mac has the best compromise. You have native bsd and better gui and video editing capabilities than Linux.
-
@BlackOrange oh, you think I actually use Arch. Since I cannot insert a trollface emoticon into a comment on DevRant, saying "BTW I use Arch" is basically the same thing. BTW I use Arch
-
@unsignedint idk. A semi-creative person would’ve found a way to express satirical intent. Thus you’re either not not even semi-creative or weren’t being satirical and actually do use Arch Linux and, furthermore, think it makes you superior. So you either get props for using Arch, which does in fact make you superior because I’ve never had the patience to fuck with that shit, or you get shamed for thinking that I can read your mind. So you want to admit to using Arch and take the props? Or do you wanna be yet another asshole on the internet who thinks everyone should “just get” the intent behind his posts?
Every Udemy instructor whose videos I buy uses a Mac. That is all. Discuss.
