Code Editor. No discussion to be had.

Why though, what does say Visual Studio do that code doesn't do today, that makes the difference?

Code editor, add multiple extension in then you got a kinda-like IDE I guess

Ide for certain languages (with extensions ofc)

Windows C++ dev here: IDE, no doubt. No extensions either.

I also have to work with xcode (again, C++), and my opinion is bias, but god, do i love coming back to VS after a couple of works working on xcode.

@irene At first I thought I read the question wrong, that op was asking what was better between IDE and VS Code. But given your answer, do enlighten me: What extras features would you expect from an IDE that VS does not provide?

@irene I do apologize, i did read the question completely wrong...I work on VS studio, not VS code. I should consider getting better glasses XD

Edit: Yeah, VS Code is a code editor.

Both, it’s a text editor but it can be a small IDE if you set it up to be
