It is not a rant!!!!!

I want to build my own pc for gaming on budget.
Like Under $1000

Please if anyone can recommend the components, write in the comments.

PS: I want a monitor too, outside the specified budget, shall I go for 144hz or a normal monitor.

    Ryzen 5 3600 is probably hard to beat atm

    144hz is big difference that you dont really see but definitely feel.

    But once you go 144hz, 60hz will annoy you. Once you go 144 there is no way back. But its worth trip.

    What about Ryzen 5 2600 with Rtx 2060?

    @Makenshi thanks for this.

    @irene I use daily driver 240 ;)

    Given that, 144 is kindda okay and 60 is like "oh boi, kill me"

    @irene maybe between 120 and 144 there is minor difference, but I definitely feel 144 vs 240 difference.

    @irene probably true.

    I agree with the Ryzen 5, I'd pick an RTX 2060 super tough.
    Although tbh, I'd rather tell people to go full on AMD (still salty over nVidia releasing those supers 8 months after the 'normal' RTX cards ... yes I'm a 2070 owner).

    @MrWouter so first you should wait for a release and then you should wait for the prices to drop

    Do you have any preferences on looks or something

    you want budget and performance. Choose AMD.
    I use ryzen 1700 and i feel like i need an upgrade. So go abovr that 2700x should do.
    I have rx580 gpu but sometimes frames drop below 60fps in very few games.
    So you need better gpu especially if you want to have 144hz display. cuz it won't do you any good if you buy 144hz display and have a gpu which delivers 70 fps.

    Have high speed rams upto 16gb atleast.

    Use an nvme SSD it really is worth. I use samsung 970 evo and it doesn't show loading screen in many games while other PCs show loading in same games. It will give you an overall speed up in day to day pc tasks and dev work too.

    Last tip is to move a little outside of your budget. Because if something has an entry level price of 150usd you'll have a very good one at 200usd. You'll be getting much higher performance for relatively low price increase.

    @jurion

    Depends on what you want to do really. I have a friend who usually buys my old system (or parts of it) when I upgrade (which I do every 4/5 years).
    My previous system died (not quite sure what's the cause exactly) and he's still happily using the one before that, which is pushing 10 years by now.
    The guy only plays WoW and some (indie) single player games, and unlike me, he doesn't want everything on maxed out settings.

    @irene

    **cough, cough** Im happy owner of 1tb 960 pro that cost me around 600 USD back to the day. And it was great deal back then. Still running it, im happy user.

    And yeah, its lots of $$$ especially for my country but I just made good project solo and had money for that. Worth every cent.

    @irene
    I agree. Made a mistake buying a 2070, got screwed over due to the faulty memory in early RTX cards and got screwed over more recently with the RTX super cause they decided the 2060 super should have comparable/better performance as a 2070 for a lower price point.

    I already kinda was doubting to wait for AMD's new cards, but my PC died on me so I had to build a new system sooner than expected. Next time, f* intel, f* nVidia I'm going full on AMD.

    @irene

    Call me madman.

    After almost 2 years its holding up 10/10, i used around 1.5% of its MTBF and its speed is more than competetive in todays standards.

    I neeed reaible fast storage, and I payed premium for this. And since im from poland, you can call me madman twice, becouse many here earn this much or less monthly. But as I said, deal was golden pretty much, i saved around 120 bucks and thats seriously how much it was worth back then. Best of bests.

    @irene

    Yeah, i needed performance but mainly reability. Thats why I payed top dollar for this drive.

    Almost 2 years later it performs like it was factory new, no problems whatsoever.

    I didnt really needed top tier performance but something that will stay in high end for years. So instead buing now cheaper good grade 1tb nvme SSD for say +-200 bucks and back then 1tb for +-300 bucks, and probably with worse performance, i went top tier so I dont have to upgrade it for years to come. PCIe gen 4 is game changer though, but I wont buy PCIe gen4 pc in forseable future (like in next 2 years or so) so dosent affect me just yet.

    TL;DR i spent more back then and now I dont need to worry about upgrades of my SSD :)

    One of very few SSDs outperforming it is samsung 970 evo plus. Which is currently for half of price I paid for my SSD.

    There is valid reasoning in madness, otherwise I wouldnt do it ;)

    @irene but it's worth every penny.
    I got it for around 150usd from a person who has spare after having used 2tb nvme in a home NAS.
    Some people have money like it grows on trees. 😂
