I just bought my laptop last year.
But I already crash it several times due to my horrendous C++ programs.
Lifespan is greatly reduced.

What laptop and what are you coding that makes it crash so badly?

I keep saying when I retire my gaming / coding PC I want to give it a Viking funeral. This fucker has seen some shit and deserves it.

Viking funeral = Lighting it on fire with thermite in my case.

@unreliable HP 1.8 GHz, 4 cores, 8GB RAM.

I run big array arithmetic on CPU & GPU.

What is the nature of the crashes? Kinda curious what kind of userspace crash can still damage the hardware.

Every segfault is always preceded by this tiny sound 'zzzzttt' from my machine which scares me.
I run multi-threaded program in my CPU and when the array size gets too big, my laptop will not responds and I have to force-restart it.
Same with GPU.
If I have to force-restart multiple times, my laptop will not survive long.
Maybe I need more powerful ones.
