With 4 years of b.tech about to finish, i feel fucked up. Our studies were useless and other than java basics, i know nothing.

Parents say do external courses, use your time to learn some more industry relevant skills , while college says to shut up and take a poor salary job , when offered by those placement companies.( I seriously haven't even heard of most of them).

What to do?

Find a workplace that takes in students and juniors.

When we get people straight out from uni we don't expect them to know jack shit, and they get put in positions meant to give experience rather than have them produce something valuable off the bat.

You've heard it a million times but that's because it's true; what they look for in juniors is proven enthusiasm and ability to learn.

@ltlian i am currently looking for one. The companies that i mentioned, which comes in colleges are mostly like that i guess. They are taking us for the profile of software engineer trainee, provides shit salary, and i guess we will be doing some testing and maintaining stuff for legacy java softwares

I honestly don't know if that's right for me. Like @rutee07 and @iamrp 's guy garyVee(holy shit that guy is awesome! ) said i need to work on gaining more skills in order to reach my ultimate goal of becoming a good earning Tech professional. I am also inclined towards that, but do you guys think these companies are going to provide me with relevent industry level skills? Also any suggestions what skills should i expect from them to teach me?
