When will the ISP finally upgrade to FTTH? Even though I live near a fairly large city, I have literally 900kbps

    Unless you live in the middle of buttfuck nowhere, it's not the medium of transport that's limiting your connection speed.
    It's your ISP.
    Sure, fiber can be hella fast and great, but even a standard copper cable will provide plenty of speed for regular usage.
    Anything less than that is them putting a cap on your speed so they can make the most profit out of their infrastructure, because almost nobody wants to make long-term investments in infrastructure.

    Thank you @Endor, you're probably right but I haven't seen one of the Verteilerboxes(forgot the English name, but you know what I mean) In a 1km-ish range, could be that.
