    That's the problem of the one who promised it, don't let it become your problem.

    And if someone complains about it, stand firm and make your position clear

    To add on what @ddephor said, just to be safe, prepare technical explanation on why it will take x months so that no matter what is said you have a proof that they can take it and ask others if they choose not to believe you
